Monday Is Not the Enemy
“How was your day?”
“It’s Monday, so it sucked…”
Literally, every single Monday my social media feed is FLOODED with memes and other pictures depicting how hated Monday is. It’s actually impressive how creative these people get with their posts.
I recently saw a nice reiteration of a Justin Bieber song to convey how much this person hated Monday.
But you know what?
I think it’s sad.
I think it is so negative to set the precedent that Monday’s suck. It hurts my heart every week to see so many people upset that they woke up!
Guys, Monday is a new start!
Monday is the day to wake up early and get your body moving! Go for a run, do some yoga, take a Pure Barre class (shameless plug), but get your body moving and get your week going!
After you move your body, have your coffee maker set to brew your favorite coffee so it’s ready for you. Pick out your outfit the night before, and make it something you feel great in. Eat a good breakfast, or make a delicious smoothie!
I also would love to add a Monday playlist is always a good idea! Fill it with your favorite upbeat songs and play it while you get ready for your day or on your commute to work. I mean honestly, have you ever been in a bad mood listening to Whitney Houston’s “Dance With Somebody”? Check out mine here.
Stop looking at Monday as something bad, and look at Monday as a way to set your intentions for the week, the day to start off positively and bring joy to everyone around you. Monday should be the best day of the week, because it’s the start of something new!
I know that so many people aren’t happy with their 9-5 job, and that’s okay, but find a way to bring some joy into it. Use the weekends to figure out what your dream job is, and work to make that dream a reality. Come into Monday morning knowing that you have a light at the end of the tunnel, and in the meantime you’re going to flood your days with positivity. Don’t make a job you don’t love going to worse by coming into it on each Monday with a negative heart.
If you truly cannot be positive on Mondays because your job is sucking out your soul, then it’s time to make a change. There is ALWAYS a way out, but it may take some effort and sacrifices to find it. Life is too short to be miserable, and if you need to make a change please do it.
Do it for yourself. Do it for your loved ones. Do it for your future.
But, if you don’t try, and you choose to stay where you are, please do not complain. Don’t bring your negativity into the world around you, because Monday is not the devil, and there are those of us who are going to choose to embrace each Monday morning with open arms and high expectations.
I want to challenge each of you to get excited about Monday and share what you did to make it the best day of the week!
Love,
Lilly
